Aunt Sarah Comes to Kansas City

Nothing beats a visit from a favorite aunt. While John was out east with family last week, Sarah came to hang out with us for a few days. I am so grateful she was willing to break our "three day rule." It was great to have an extra set of hands here and the kids really loved spending some time in the kitchen with her. She can bake some mean sugar cookies. I'm not sure which the kids liked better, the actual cookies or making the mess while making them. Thank you Sarah for a fantastic visit. We miss you already!

Yay Aunt Sarah is here!

Boom! Fourth of July 2014

We played all day and ended things with a bang. Had a first this Fourth of July....fireworks! We stayed up late, ventured out to watch them at the top of a hill near our neighborhood. They were awesome and the kids were mesmerized for a short short time. It's really fun watching their expressions with new experiences. You just never know what is going on tin their little minds.

A great start to the day at the Lifetime pool
